A 25 + year passion project here in NZ that started with a genuine 1969 Mach 1 Mustang, this gorgeous car has been treated to the full Shelby GT350 body spec upgrade with all of the correct fibreglass front and rear panels unique trim, and correct style scoops fitted along with the unique tail lamp bumper and grille treatment, all at an absolutely eye watering cost, with the result being a truly authentic looking replica that is difficult to distinguish from the original, and certainly accurate enough that the question gets asked is that actually a genuine Shelby? The clean dry body has the totally authentic panel fitment for these cars of the era, and has been treated to an absolutely beautiful coat of the desirable Hero Colour sparkling Acapulco Blue Metallic, which with the white Shelby decals suits the long flowing aggressive Fastback lines to perfection. The nicely detailed engine bay houses a lively 4V 351 Windsor coupled to a smooth shifting auto, and the overall driving experiance is quite rewarding, and makes you realise your driving something quite special. The stunning Black Deluxe interior has the extra Shelby gauges in the full length centre console, along with the rose wood accent panels and Shelby badging, while a genuine Moto Lita wood rim steering wheel adds a touch of class. Period correct 15 Inch Magnum 500 chrome sports wheels and old school raised white letter BFGs complete the package and give a tradition look to this stunning Muscle Car, and you really do feel like youre driving a true Shelby inspired Mustang with the over all appearance of this impressive beast. The cost of replicating this car to this standard again today would be enormous, as a lot of these parts are expensive and very hard to obtain, and you would really need to do a serious amount of research on a genuine car to get it this close.A very cool car that represents a significant previous investment, and all for a lot less than the cost and associated risk of buying a genuine example overseas.
